Overseas Training Program

In fiscal 2010, we launched the "Short-Term Overseas Training Program," which is a six month training program that combines foreign language training at an overseas language school with on-the-job training at an overseas sales company. This program aims to help employees acquire practical language skills and develop a global sense of business through overseas training.

Through on-the-job training at overseas sales companies, trainees gain a deeper understanding of the culture, attitudes and business practices as well as local customer needs. They also gain valuable experience and knowledge that will help them in developing new products and services in the future. We expect that employees who have been trained under this program will contribute significantly to the growth and development of our company.

VOICE: I want to apply what I've learned from my overseas experience to my future work.

Sales Section III, Corporate Sales Division

Since I joined the company, I have been involved in domestic sales. However, I always wanted to do overseas-related work sometime in the future. Though my work had nothing to do with overseas, when I learned that my company had started a short-term overseas training program, I took the courage to apply to the program, thinking that this would be my last chance to study abroad because of my age.

During my overseas training, I gained valuable experience. I spent five months at KYOCERA Document Solutions United Kingdom. All its staff members were local, except for the general manager, and I was astonished that the contents of their conversations, their thinking processes, and their business approach and speed were totally different from those in Japan. Each day brought a new challenge and a new surprise. I really enjoyed and learned a lot from living and working in a foreign culture.

I would like to contribute to the growth of the company by utilizing what I have learned from this training.
