Risk Management

The KYOCERA Document Solutions Group has an effective risk management system in place to respond appropriately to increasingly diverse and complex internal and external risks associated with business operations. The Risk Management Office has been established to implement risk prediction and prevention programs as well as information security measures.

Risk Management System

To respond effectively and appropriately to an emergency and minimize the resulting damage, the KYOCERA Document Solutions Group has developed internal rules and manuals regarding risk management and communicates them to all employees. The Group has also established a Risk Management Committee, comprising general managers of business divisions/sites and representatives of affiliated companies. The Committee and persons in charge of risk management in business divisions/sites and affiliated companies are working collaboratively to effectively respond to diversifying risks.

Potential Risks:
Regulatory risks, quality risks, human risks, information risks, natural disaster risks, incident/accident risks, environmental risks, supplier risks, etc.

Information Risk Management

Taking information risk management to be one of its most critical tasks to ensure the sustainable development of corporate activities, the KYOCERA Document Solutions Group has established an Information Security Committee. In August 2006, the Group established a Security Policy, which specifies rules regarding information security.

Information Security

We recognize that appropriate protection and management of information (including personal information) is crucial for fulfilling our corporate social responsibilities. Under the supervision of the Information Security Committee, with the President as chairperson, we have established a Basic Personal Information Protection Policy and a Basic Information Security Policy, and are implementing various security measures to ensure proper handling and management of information.

  • Auditing the management status of personal computers and removable media

Information Security Education

As part of its information risk management efforts, the KYOCERA Document Solutions Group provides information security education via e-learning to enable employees to study at any time convenient to them.
KYOCERA Document Solutions ensures that new employees and those who have returned from overseas assignments receive "Information Security Basics." KYOCERA Document Solutions Japan, which handles customers' personal information, requires all staff members to take a "Personal Information Protection Education Course."

Acquisition of Privacy Mark Certification (KYOCERA Document Solutions Japan)

Privacy Mark

KYOCERA Document Solutions Japan (the domestic sales company) handles and stores important personal information of customers. To ensure proper use and management of personal information, the Company has established its Basic Personal Information Protection Policy. In 2006, the Company was granted Privacy Mark certification by the Japan Information Processing Development Corporation (JIPDEC), in recognition of the Company's efforts in taking adequate measures to protect personal information. We have been working vigorously to develop a system for ensuring the effective implementation of personal information protection activities.
