In China, where social infrastructures are less developed, people are working in an environment where married couples cannot raise children without the support of their grandparents or relatives, because, generally, both parents go to work. We operate its in-house nursery, Tongle Yuan, with the help of the plant's labor union. The nursery takes care of children, so that employees with children can work without worry. Employees with children in this nursery expressed their happiness, commenting: "My parents used to take care of my small children in my hometown. Now I can use the service of Tongle Yuan and live together with my children."
Also, as another activity, "Kyocera Summer Class", which temporarily takes care of children of employees during summer holiday, has been set up since 2014. This year 28 children made use of this class.
Since August 2013, we have addressed the acquisition of the certification for Safe Production Standardization by Dongguan City Safe Production Administration. In November 2013, self-assessment of Safe Production Standardization was completed, and in December of the same year we passed the on-site inspection. And in June 20, 2014, we passed the audit by the related departments such as Dongguan City Safe Production Administration and acquired the certification of Class 3 Certification for Safe Production Standardization
This effort leads to the clarification of the responsibility for safe production at our plant by each division and by each duty position and the improvement of the awareness of safe production among all employees. Then, as a result, occurrence of occupational accidents can be effectively reduced.
We will continue to promote safe production management in order to achieve higher target.

We designated June 2016 as Environment and Safety Reinforcement Month, aiming to create a lively workplace that is safe and secure for employees and improve the safety awareness of all employees, in order to achieve zero industrial accidents. The Environment and Safety Reinforcement Month activities included clean-up activity around our plant and reinforcement of inspections of workplace safety.
Moreover, we have worked on the prevention of occupational accidents by conducting activities, such as guidance on walking etiquette in our plant in April and KYT (Risk Prediction Training) in May.
We are working to create a safe workplace. We have conducted fire-fighting and evacuation drills and initial fire-extinguishing drills every year since 2004, in order to make all employees understand the importance of initial intervention and, in the event of an actual fire, develop their ability to take swift action, minimize damage and protect themselves. Night-shift employees also endeavor to improve their ability to respond to nighttime fires and ensure their safety by conducting a nighttime fire-fighting and evacuation drills since 2011 so that they can swiftly conduct appropriate fire-fighting activities even in the night.
It is one of the important duties of a company to make sure that its employees are healthy. True to this policy, we opened an infirmary inside the plant in July 2012. A licensed nurse is always stationed in the room, and medical examination by a medical doctor is also available during predetermined hours every day. Having an infirmary on-site allows employees to swiftly seek medical attention whenever they catch a slight cold or suffer minor injury. Employees also have an annual medical checkup, which allows them to check their own health condition and enhance their awareness of health management. With this health monitoring system, employees can receive necessary medical treatment and improve their health based on an annual medical checkup report and the doctor's advice.
Our training program regularly provides all employees with level-based training centering on the Kyocera Philosophy. The standard program includes training for new recruits, Kyocera Philosophy education, manager training, repeat training and specialty training so as to help employees enhance their work performance and mental capability.
In 2011, we opened an advance training course for plant employees in cooperation with a local educational organization in order to help employees enhance their own knowledge and expertise. Employees are qualified to take this course. These graduates further hone their capabilities by utilizing the knowledge and skills they learned from the course.
When employees have fun together outside the workplace, deepen their ties and interaction, and enhance the level of their satisfaction in their lives, the bond among them is further reinforced. We hold various events jointly with the labor union.
We have taken a company trip once a year every year since 2013 to express the management's gratitude to a workforce that always does its best on the job every day. On this day, employees enjoy a wonderful day together away from their work.
This year, the company trip was held over three days, May 14, 15, and 29. A total of 4,307 employees and their family members enjoyed the trip.
We hold joint birthday parties for employees who celebrate their birthday around the same time and provide them meals and gifts.
The 11th Interdepartmental Basketball Tournament was held in 2016. A total of 10 teams, including men's and women's teams, composed of employees selected from the plant's departments competed for the championship from July 22 to September 21. In June 2016, the fourth annual Badminton Competition was hosted by the labor union. The qualifying round of this competition was held on June 19 and the final round was held on June 26, where 127 employees played exciting games. Through this competition we would like employees not only to realize the joy of their own growth but also to build communication between employees who do not contact each other in their everyday work.
Every November, the entire workforce takes part in an athletic meet. Employees engage in various events and games on an interdepartmental basis, including a cheering competition and team competition. It is a very popular event that also helps enhance camaraderie. This time 4,418 employees took part.
