Plant Manager Shigeki Nakamori
Plant Manager Shigeki Nakamori

The Tamaki Plant is our main plant, handling everything from development to production of various types of toner powder. The plant also develops tools and jigs used to assemble multifunctional products and other systems, and is a key facility playing the role of "mother plant" in passing down Kyocera's manufacturing technology. In order to perpetuate these important business activities, the plant must coexist with the local community. The area around the plant is blessed with an abundant natural environment, and the plant is adjacent to residential and agricultural areas. Therefore the employees are working hard, based on an understanding that the most important issues are environmental conservation, coexistence with the community and realization of a safe workplace.
For environmental conservation, we ensure thorough management of emission standards, including factory effluent, noise, and dust. In order to explain our environmental activities, we hold a community environmental report meeting every year, to which we invite neighboring residents and local government agencies.
We hold a meeting with the leaders of the four neighboring residents' associations and exchange notes with them so that we can promote activities for harmonious coexistence with the local community. Other ongoing activities include the cleaning of local public facilities and the holding of an annual summer festival that attracts many local residents. These activities help us have a good relationship with local residents.
