Kyocera Document Solutions receives the 70th Industrial Technology Award
September 08, 2020
Kyocera Document Solutions Inc. (President: Norihiko Ina) (hereafter "Kyocera"), is pleased to announce that we received the 70th Industrial Technology Award sponsored by the Osaka Industrial Research Association.
The Industrial Technology Award is given to companies that are members of the Osaka Industrial Research Association to promote science and technology, and, to foster young researchers and engineers through research and development, including future development, that will make a significant contribution to industrialization.
The award was presented to the winner of the "Print head maintenance technology using a cleaning solution supply system Development", which is a new business that Kyocera Document Solutions launched in March 2020 to the Japan domestic market. The print head on the TASKalfa Pro 15000c printer is an automatic technology to maintain.
To maintain the output quality of the inkjet printer, the print head surface must remain dry, and, it is necessary to remove the ink and dirt to keep the printer clean. For this reason, Kyocera has the technology to develop a unique cleaning solution that dissolves the dried ink, which is then applied to the head and fed from a special nozzle to the blade to wipe the surface, successfully removing dirt from the blades. In addition, we have also been able to incorporate a cleaning system that uses a solution to finish wiping and cleaning the blade itself. The TASKalfa Pro 15000c can print up to 60 million pages* without maintenance.
Based on the long-life technology we have cultivated over many years in office printers and MFPs, we have commercialized an eco-friendly and inkjet printer with a less parts replacement. We will continue to develop valuable products that offer higher reliability at lower cost.
Kyocera Document Solutions has championed innovative technology since 1934. We enable our customers to turn information into knowledge, excel at learning and surpass others. With professional expertise and a culture of empathetic partnership, we help organizations put knowledge to work to drive change.
