Together with the Community
We engage in various social contribution activities in order to coexist harmoniously with society, our global community and nature ("Living Together").
Inviting Vietnamese Junior High School Students to Japan

Working with Kyocera Vietnam, a Kyocera Group company, we have been inviting junior high school students from Hanoi, Hung Yen Province, and Hai Phong to visit Japan since 2016.
This cross-cultural learning experience is one of the initiatives that was inspired by Kazuo Inamori's own experience during his first business trip to the United States shortly after he founded Kyocera. Designed to give students an opportunity to experience a foreign culture with different values, the program includes visits to cultural as well as science and technology facilities in Tokyo and Kyoto, sightseeing in Kyoto, a tour of the Kyocera Group's plant, an exchange event at a junior high school in Kyoto City, and a two-night homestay with the family of a Kyocera Group employee. During the exchange program held at a junior high school in Kyoto, the students interacted with Japanese students of the same age as they took part in club activities, made dorayaki (Japanese pancakes filled with sweet azuki bean paste), and more. At first, the students were a little nervous at the grand welcome they received at the junior high school, but they were soon all smiles as the Japanese students taught them about kendo and table tennis.

Scholarships to Students at Vietnam Maritime University

Helping to sow the seeds that will give rise to the next working generation in Vietnam, we award scholarships to students at Vietnam Maritime University in Hai Phong. Since the start of the scholarship program in 2013, scholarships have been awarded to 31 students.
Year-end Mutual Aid Fundraising Activity
Before the Vietnamese Lunar New Year (or Tet), we called on our employees to donate money to charity. The money raised, plus contributions from the plant and labor union, was used to buy daily necessities and school supplies, which were donated to an orphanage and a school for the deaf in the area.
