Kyocera Mita Corporation (President: Katsumi Komaguchi) announced that the Kyocera Mita Group´s sales company in India, KYOCERA MITA India Private Ltd. (herein "Kyocera Mita India"; HQ: Gurgaon; President: K. Swetharanyan), has signed an agreement for the transfer of the office equipment related business from Kilburn Office Automation Ltd. (herein "Kilburn"; HQ: Kolkata; Chairman: S.K. Jalan), a publicly-listed bank and office equipment sales company in India.
Kyocera Mita established its India subsidiary (Kyocera Mita India) in 2008, and has since been strengthening sales through both a nationwide dealer network and direct sales to major enterprises. In recent years, demand for printers and multifunctional products has been increasing starting from metropolises to satellite cities, and even into the whole of the country. To cope with these market conditions, Kyocera Mita India´s current goals are to speed up expansion of its nationwide service and sales networks, thus allowing the company to provide efficient and high-value service to customers.
Through this agreement, Kyocera Mita India has acquired the nationwide network of equipment sales offices, service centers and customers from Kilburn. Through the merger, Kyocera Mita´s sales and service coverage will extend almost throughout the whole of India.
Kyocera Mita plans to triple annual sales in the next three years (FY2012-14) in China, India, Korea and other ASEAN countries; and among these, India´s role is seen as particularly essential to success. The acquisition of the office equipment related business of Kilburn creates an important foundation to achieve Kyocera Mita´s aim of becoming a market leader in India's printer and multifunctional products industry within 3 years.
