KYOCERA A4 Monochrome Printers Scoop
Two Prestigious BLI Pick of the Year Awards

KYOCERA Document Solutions Inc.(President: Katsumi Komaguchi), one of the world's leading document solutions companies, is delighted to announce its range of Ecosys printers have again been honoured with the BLI pick of the year award. BLI awarded both the KYOCERA Ecosys FS-4100DN and the FS-4200DN the summer 2013 "pick" for outstanding A4 monochrome printer for mid-size workgroups.

The KYOCERA range of Ecosys printers have been the recipient of several BLI awards and the latest range of feature rich, energy efficient devices now have 3 awards across the range. In addition to the FS-4300DN*, the FS-4100DN and the FS-4200DN were praised for a range of features that improved workflows and productivity. Features such as image quality, print speed and lower TCO were given prominence. In particular, the new KX driver was highlighted for advanced ease of use features such as clickable icons and minimal clicks needed to get to printing options.

BLI rigorously tested reliability over two months and found both the FS-4100DN and the FS-4200DN produced 100,000 and 125,000 impressions respectively without any service requirement or paper misfeeding.

High Productivity with Minimal Environmental Impact

FS-4100DN, the 45-ppm model, was highly productive with faster than average speeds with its KPDL (PostScript) driver and the first-page-out time was exceptionally short for all file types tested.

Image quality is a mandatory requirement and the FS-4200DN was credited with crisp text, the full range of halftones, and dark solids.

KYOCERA is known for prioritising environmental features across its entire product range, so it is no surprise that BLI recognised KYOCERA for long-life consumables "far exceeding all competitive devices and contributing to a lower TCO and much reduced environmental impact." Simon Plumtree, BLI's European Managing Editor, further commented, "Also noteworthy is that the PCL driver allows users to save settings for frequently used jobs and to configure a time after which the device will enter sleep mode."

About the BLI Test

Twice a year with its "Pick" awards, BLI gives special recognition in each category to those products that provided the most outstanding performances in BLI's exhaustive lab tests.
BLI's awards stand alone in that they are based on a rigorous battery of lab tests that takes approximately two months to complete. The evaluation includes an extensive durability test, during a portion of which each unit is run at the manufacturer's maximum duty cycle. BLI's durability test is unique among office product evaluations and uniquely qualifies BLI to assess reliability, a critical factor for buyers and IT directors.
