How do I configure the app to use OCR on my scanned documents?
On the Scan page, select the built-in OCR workflow.
To add OCR to any workflow, set the OCR switch to On and select a language.
How do I use OCR on pictures taken with the camera on my computer?
On the Camera page, tap Tap to start. The Camera dialog opens. After you take a picture, the snapshot appears on screen and the app bar shows OCR options. Tap OCR and then select a language from the menu of supported languages (unsupported languages are disabled.) A text editing area allows you to make corrections. Export to Word can save the extracted text to a Microsoft® Word file.
What languages are supported for OCR and how do I add additional languages?
The app supports the following OCR languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified.
If any of these languages don’t appear in Print Center’s OCR options, you can add them by installing language packs with OCR support.
Users can install more languages and features by going to Windows Settings > Time & language > Region & language > Add a language.
