KYOCERA MyPanel is an app for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone that lets you use your mobile device to connect wirelessly to compatible KYOCERA printing devices on your local Wi-Fi network. When connected, you can do the following:

  • Copy a document
  • Scan and send a document
  • Scan and fax a document
  • Print files in a custom box
  • Save settings as a workflow
  • Preview and print Evernote notes and attachments
  • Preview and print Dropbox files
  • Preview and print OneDrive files
  • Select staple and punch positions for some new models
  • Generate and print code
  • Connect to network devices
  • Display device information
  • Set authentication and manage features
  • Enable fax notifications
  • Enable the use of the TalkBack (Android) or VoiceOver (iOS) features

The app is available for download from iTunes (for iOS devices), Google Play (for Android devices), and the Windows Phone Store (for Windows Phone devices).

KYOCERA MyPanel is available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Spanish. The app automatically displays in the same language as that set in your mobile device’s system settings. If your mobile device is set to a language other than the supported languages, the app will display in English.

Voice command is limited to basic functions. The following voice commands can be used in their respective screens.

Yes, you can execute KYOCERA MyPanel features by tapping the Android device on the printing device’s NFC tag.

For iOS and Android, scanned images can be sent to email addresses, Dropbox, Evernote, OneDrive, and shared folders.

For Windows Phone, scanned images can be sent to email addresses, OneDrive, and, for some printing device models, to shared folders.

Email addresses can also be selected from the printing device address book or from the mobile device address book.

For iOS, you can print .JPEG, .PNG, .TIFF, .PDF, .TXT, .XPS, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, iWork Keynote, iWork Numbers, and iWork Pages. If you use iOS 8.0 or iOS 8.0.2, upgrade your mobile device to iOS 8.1 to print .RTF files. User login, Job accounting, and preview are not supported for .XPS.

For Android, you can print .JPEG, .PNG, .TIFF, .PDF, .TXT, and .XPS. User login, Job accounting, and preview are not supported for .TIFF and .XPS.

For Windows Phone, you can print .JPEG, .PNG, .BMP, .TIFF, .PDF, .TXT, and .XPS. User login, Job accounting, and preview are not supported for .TXT and .XPS. Preview is not supported for .PDF.

Discovery and Network

NFC must be enabled on your Android device and on the printing device.

You can tap on the printing device’s NFC tag from the home screen to connect to a printing device.

A printing device can have up to 3 IP addresses, which are Wired, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi Direct. When you tap on an NFC tag, the app checks for Wi-Fi availability in the following order:

  1. Wired

  2. Wi-Fi

  3. Wi-Fi Direct

When you cannot connect to a printing device with Wired or Wi-Fi, you connect with Wi-Fi Direct.

Turn off Use host name in the application’s system menu.

You can access the Internet when connecting through Wi-Fi Direct pairing mode. If your mobile device has a cellular network, the cellular network will be used for Internet access.

MyPanel prioritizes the use of Wi-Fi if it is connected to a network. If Wi-Fi is on but not connected to a network, it uses Wi-Fi Direct pairing mode for communication with the printing device, and uses mobile data for Internet access.

You cannot access the Internet through Wi-Fi access point mode.

It is possible to spend your cellular data when using these features:

  • Sending to a shared folder, Evernote, Dropbox, or OneDrive
  • Printing from Evernote, Dropbox, or OneDrive

When connected to printing devices by Wi-Fi Direct, Internet access is required for these features.

For iOS, you can use an IPv6 address. For Android and Windows Phone, you can only find a device with an IPv4 address.

Use the camera to scan a printing device code. When the code is confirmed, tap Connect to connect to the device.

SNMP and Bonjour device discovery are not supported with Wi-Fi Direct pairing mode.

Use Specify IP address if Cellular data is enabled on your mobile device.

Use WS-Discovery if Cellular data is not enabled on your mobile device.

If you want to use SNMP or Bonjour device discovery, you can connect with a printing device by Wi-Fi access point mode.

To see all stored documents, go to the Home screen and tap the Custom box icon to reload the documents.

This occurs with some models when the Media for Auto (Color) setting is changed to All Media Types.

On the printing device’s operation panel, go to System Menu > Common Settings > Original/Paper Settings, and set Media for Auto (Color) to something other than All Media Types.

This is a known issue when upgrading from v1.0.3. You must create new workflows. They can be saved for future upgrades.

Check that your devices are connected to your local area network, and that the printing device is turned on.

If the resolution option is available, selecting a lower resolution option may help. It is also possible that your network connection is slow, which can affect printing performance. If the performance does not improve, contact your sales representative.

The system administrator can restrict printing and scanning on the printing device or through Command Center RX by turning on local authentication or network authentication. Custom box files cannot be printed with Job accounting validation.

  • Check if your printing device is supported.
  • Check your local area network connections and confirm that your mobile device is wirelessly connected to the network.
  • Check that your mobile device is accessing the same subnet address range as that of your printing device.
  • Make sure WSD is enabled on the printing device or in Command Center RX.
  • Retry discovery.
  • Enter the IP address that is displayed on the operation panel or status page of the printing device.

If necessary, contact your system administrator for assistance.

You must manually configure the paper size on the printing device or Command Center RX. Once the paper size is manually configured, MyPanel will reflect the correct size.

Feature constraints on the printing device are also applied to MyPanel.

Go to System Menu > Manage Feature and select the check boxes for the removed features. Only default features can be restored. Workflows cannot be restored.

For iOS and Android, destinations can be selected for email addresses, or for a combination of folders, Evernote, Dropbox, and OneDrive.

For Windows Phone, destinations can be selected for a combination of email addresses and folders, or for a combination of Evernote, Dropbox, and OneDrive.

Please check the setting for job accounting. Custom box printing is not compatible with job accounting. Job accounting should be turned off to print from a custom box.

This occurs with some models when the Media for Auto (Color) setting is changed to All Media Types.

On the printing device’s operation panel, go to System Menu > Common Settings > Original/Paper Settings, and set Media for Auto (Color) to something other than All Media Types.

This also occurs with some models when the Zoom setting is changed to Auto.

On the printing device’s operation panel, go to System Menu > Common Settings > Function Defaults, and set Zoom to 100%.

For Android, some Evernote notes cannot be previewed.

You must create the workflow again.

Accessing OneDrive is supported for iOS 8.0 and later.

For iOS and Android, the workflows may have gone to the next page. To see the next page, swipe the Home screen to the left.

For Windows Phone, the workflows may be located higher or lower on the Home screen. To see more icons (when available), scroll up or down.

Do any of the following:

  • Reposition your camera to improve the focus.
  • For iOS: In Select Device, go to Discover or Manual, then follow the instructions on the screen.
  • For Android: In Device Discovery, go to Specify IP address or Find devices, then follow the instructions on the screen.

On the printing device’s operation panel, go to Status > Send Job Log to see if the document was sent successfully. If not, select a valid destination and resend the document.

For Android, the Dropbox account must contain at least one folder to use the MyPanel Dropbox feature. Tap the mobile device’s Back button to close Dropbox. Open your Dropbox account on a mobile device or computer and create a folder. Then when you sign in to Dropbox from MyPanel, the contents will appear normally.

Sending documents to a shared folder is only supported on Android devices earlier than 5.0.

This occurs for the following models. Contact your sales company to upgrade your printing device firmware to version XXX_2000.003.001 or later.

It is a known issue that Android web browsers have issues accessing the Evernote web interface. Please use the Evernote app to manage your Evernote account.

A feature not supported by a connected printing device is unavailable.

The MyPanel app icon and the notification icon indicate the number of new faxes since the last time Notification Center was opened.

Fax notification is turned off automatically if a device is not successfully polled for 15 minutes. This is designed to reduce battery drain.

Voice commands are available only for English and French.

After the initial command, you must give the next command within 5 seconds.

For iOS, the selected touch style must be Standard Typing or Touch Typing when VoiceOver is on. Do not select Direct Touch Typing.

The application does not collect any personal data.

  • Combine: 4 in1 > Left then down
  • Duplex: 2-sided > 1-sided

To copy with settings like these, the document sheets must be placed in the document feeder, not the platen.

When user authentication is turned on in the printing device, you must also log on in MyPanel to use staple and punch.
