The collaboration between Kyocera and LCF began in 2023 when FOREARTH was unveiled for the first time at ITMA 2023, the world’s largest textile and garment technology exhibition, held in Milan, Italy. As part of the exhibition, collaborative works featuring textile designs created by LCF students and printed using FOREARTH were displayed at the Kyocera booth, demonstrating the potential of combining the creativity of emerging textile designers with Kyocera’s innovative digital textile printing technology.
Since then, the collaboration has continued to evolve. In 2026, textile designs created by LCF students and printed using FOREARTH were exhibited at Milano Unica 2027 Spring/Summer, one of Europe’s leading textile exhibitions held in Milan, Italy. The partnership has developed around the shared values of sustainability and craftsmanship embraced by London College of Fashion, UAL, and Kyocera.
For the latest project, seven students from the BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles: Print course at LCF printed their original textile designs using FOREARTH and presented them as part of their graduation projects.
Drawing inspiration from themes such as cultural heritage, family memories, traditional crafts, urban culture, nature, and personal experiences, the students created distinctive and highly individual works. FOREARTH-printed textiles were incorporated into both the graduation collections and exhibition displays, enabling the students to bring their diverse creative visions and design concepts to life.
Sarah Cheyne, Senior Lecturer in BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles: Print at London College of Fashion, commented:
We are delighted to have collaborated with Kyocera’s revolutionary sustainable inkjet textile printer, FOREARTH. This collaboration embodies London College of Fashion, UAL and Kyocera’s shared values of sustainability and craftsmanship.
Kyocera will continue collaborating with educational institutions, designers, and textile industry partners to advance sustainable production practices and support the development of the next generation of creative talent.
