Sustainability
Based on the awareness that a business enterprise is a member of society, we shall do our duty at all times as a corporate citizen that supports the development of local communities and society, and carry out various social contribution activities, not just business.
| 1. | We shall actively interact with local people and support sports to contribute to the development of local communities. |
| 2. | We shall strive to do our duty as a member of society through various activities that contribute to society such as support for education and social welfare, as well as environmental protection activities. |
As a member of the Kyocera Group, we continue to serve as an official sponsor of Kyoto Sanga F.C., a professional football club rooted in the local community.
At the annual “Kyocera Document Solutions Special Day,” we distribute smartphone cleaners featuring collaborative designs with the club to visitors and host activities such as coloring workshops at special booths. These printed materials are produced using our textile inkjet printers and MFPs. Through these initiatives, we contribute to enhancing the excitement of the matches, strengthening our ties with the club and its supporters, and creating social value in collaboration with the local community.
We will continue working closely with the club and local stakeholders to help revitalize the community through football and support the dreams and aspirations of people in the region.

●Tamaru Castle Ruins Cleanup Campaign
The Tamaki Plant participates each year, together with the labor union, in the “Tamaru Castle Ruins Cleanup Campaign” organized by Tamaki Town in the spring and autumn. This initiative aims to preserve a valuable historical asset of the community and contribute to the local area. The campaign is intended to protect the Tamaru Castle ruins — an important cultural heritage site — in cooperation with local residents and to pass it on to future generations. Participants engage in activities such as mowing grass, collecting fallen leaves and litter, removing weeds, clearing fallen trees, and maintaining walking paths. Through these efforts, the initiative contributes to preserving the local landscape and environment, while also fostering employees’ and union members’ awareness of the community, promoting interaction with local residents, and raising awareness of the importance of protecting cultural properties. We will continue to participate regularly and collaborate with related organizations to contribute to the preservation of the Tamaru Castle ruins and the inheritance of local cultural heritage.

●Participating in Adopt-a-Road & River, a cleanup program
At the Hirakata Plant, we have participated since 2004 in the “Adopt-a-Road & River Program,” a cleanup initiative organized by Osaka Prefecture, with the aim of maintaining the local landscape and promoting environmental beautification.
This program seeks to maintain a safe and pleasant community environment through the regular cleaning and maintenance of local roads and rivers by citizens and companies.
Under the Adopt-a-Road initiative, employees take the lead in cleaning the sidewalk from the nearest train station to the main gate of the plant once a month. Under the Adopt-a-River initiative, cleanup activities are conducted once every three months along the pedestrian path on the left bank of the Hotani River, which flows beside the plant.
We will continue to participate in these activities and contribute to creating a beautiful community while strengthening collaboration with local stakeholders.

●Environmental Festa: Clean River Hotani
At the Hirakata Plant, employees participate in the “Environmental Festa: Clean River Hotani,” a cleanup initiative organized by Hirakata City. In this activity, participants collect litter along sections of the Hotani River, including the area between Makino Station on the Keihan Railway and the vicinity of the Hirakata City Hotani River Clean Center, as well as areas near Yamadaike Park in Osaka Prefecture.
Working together with other volunteers, we contribute to beautifying the river and preserving the local environment.

The Global Headquarters and the Hirakata Plant accept junior high school students for workplace experience learning programs as part of our engagement with the local community and our commitment to fostering the next generation.
This program aims to deepen students’ understanding of the significance of work and the role of jobs in society by providing them with hands-on experience in an actual workplace environment.
During the program, students have the opportunity to experience a wide range of our business operations, including operating an electron microscope, engaging in design exercises using 3D CAD, conducting packaging drop tests, participating in video conferences with a sales company outside of Japan, and performing pre-packaging product preparation tasks.

At the Tamaki Plant, we participate in street-level traffic safety campaigns in cooperation with the local community during Japan’s National Traffic Safety Week.
By engaging directly with local residents and raising caution through awareness activities, our employees contribute to the prevention of traffic accidents and to creating a community where people can live safely and with peace of mind.

The U.S. Sales Company has continuously participated since 2006 in the charitable program “Toys for Tots,” led by the U.S. Marine Corps, as part of its community contribution activities.
This initiative aims to deliver toys to underprivileged and other children in need within the community, helping ensure that all children can enjoy a joyful Christmas.
Toys donated by employees are distributed as gifts to local children through the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. Through this initiative, the goodwill of our employees helps spread warmth connections within the community.

Bread and cookies produced by individuals attending vocational support facilities are sold at the Global Headquarters and Hirakata Plant, with the aim of fostering coexistence with the local community and supporting the social participation of people with disabilities.
This initiative began in 2008 and aims to encourage facility users to experience the joy of working and strengthen their motivation toward social independence through interaction with our employees, while also supporting the facilities’ business activities.
Through ongoing sales activities, we promote mutual understanding between employees and facility users and contribute to the realization of a community-based inclusive society.

In Japan, we conduct a year-end fundraising campaign every December, valuing support for the local community and the spirit of mutual assistance. This initiative aims to support those in need and to encourage employees to act with compassion as members of the community. Donations collected from employees are contributed through the local Councils of Social Welfare near each site, and the goodwill of each employee serves as support for the local community.
In addition, the Vietnam Plant also conducts a mutual aid fundraising campaign in conjunction with the Lunar New Year (Tet). In addition to donations from employees, contributions from the plant and the labor union are combined to provide daily necessities and other supplies to nearby orphanages and schools for the deaf and blind, fostering warm relationships with the local community.

We participate in blood donation initiatives at the Head Office, Hirakata Plant, and our sites in Hong Kong and the Philippines as part of our commitment to supporting local communities and healthcare services.
Blood donation is an important social contribution activity that supports the lives of people who require transfusions due to illness or accidents, and it is essential for maintaining the regional healthcare system.
At each site, we collaborate with local blood donation organizations to create an environment where employees can participate voluntarily, while ensuring appropriate considerations such as prior health checks and safety management. The blood donated through the cooperation of our employees directly supports patients in the community, and we will continue to promote these initiatives to contribute to the improvement of community health and welfare.

The Hirakata Plant participated in a local autumn festival by hosting an event aimed at raising disaster preparedness awareness, where participants experienced assembling simple emergency toilets made from cardboard used at the plant.
This initiative contributes to the dissemination of practical knowledge and skills useful in times of disaster, while also providing an opportunity to promote environmental consideration through resource reuse and to deepen engagement with the local community. We will continue to carry out ongoing disaster prevention awareness activities in the future.
