Sustainability
Water is a precious resource that circulates the Earth. Due to the recent impacts of climate change, water risks have increased in certain regions. The Kyocera Group conducts water risk assessments, sets reduction targets for water usage, and implements measures to effectively utilize and protect water resources.
The China Plant uses a water recycling system to neutralize wastewater from the cleaning process, stores it in a tank, and then reuses it as cooling water for air conditioners, thereby reducing wastewater discharge by an average of 4,600 [m³] per month.
● Reduced Water Intake 55,200 ㎥/year
Water recycling system
At the Vietnam plant, water intake is reduced by reusing wastewater discharged from cooling towers used in production facilities as toilet flushing water.
● Reduced Water Intake 7,208 ㎥/year
At the Global Headquarters, rainwater is collected and stored in a storage tank and used for on-site greening activities. In addition, at the Vietnam plant, rainwater is reused as cooling water for cooling towers, promoting the effective use of water resources.
