Japan, June 29, 2018 – Kyocera Document Solutions Inc. (President: Norihiko Ina), one of the world's leading document solutions companies, has announced its decision to build a third plant at Kyocera Document Technology Vietnam Company Limited (hereinafter “Vietnam Plant,” led by President Masaru Ueda). This development will lead to an increased production capacity in line with the acceleration of the production of its multifunctional products (MFPs) and printers.
At the new plant, Kyocera will focus on expanding its production system, thereby enhancing the ability to produce parts in-house, and increase logistics efficiency to deal with the production increase of MFPs and printers. Kyocera will also make active use of IoT to collect a variety of other information sources to visualize the production line operating status in the plant, thereby automating feedback on the collected data that will further improve efficiency.
The Vietnam Plant, which started production in October 2012, is the second overseas plant of Kyocera Document Solutions after the Shilong Plant in China. The Vietnam Plant is intended to be a complex serving not only as a manufacturing base for MFPs and printers but also as an R&D facility. For that purpose, the Vietnam Plant relocates its Vietnamese employees to Kyocera Document Solutions R&D Center (Headquarters) as trainees and provide this talented workforce with a working environment where they can fully exert their capabilities. Kyocera will continue to contribute to the stimulation of the Vietnamese economy by increasing the production of its document processing products and support the development of the local community by creating job opportunities.
Kyocera Document Solutions Inc. is a core company of Kyocera Corporation, the world's leading developer and manufacturer of advanced ceramics and associated products, including telecommunications equipment, semiconductor packages and electronic components. During the year ended March 31, 2018, Kyocera Corporation's net sales totaled 371 billion yen.
